Univar to distribute Huntsman Surfactants in the Middle East and North Africa

Brussels, Belgium – 27th January 2011 – Univar Inc., a leading global chemical distributor, announced today it has further expanded its business in the Middle East and Africa, by signing an agreement to distribute Huntsman surfactants in the region.
Huntsman is a strategic supplier of surfactants to Univar across many countries in Western Europe. The two companies have had a solid relationship for many years and Univar is pleased to announce an extension to this relationship to include the Middle East and North Africa.
This range of Huntsman surfactants is sold primarily into the Personal Care and Household and Industrial Cleaning markets as well as various other industrial applications, and will compliment Univar’s specialty chemical portfolio for these markets in the region.

Over the past few months Univar has established legal entities in the Middle East and North Africa and has set up warehousing, recruited local sales and customer service representatives and established business with customers in these countries. This latest development demonstrates Univar’s commitment both to expanding its presence in the region and to continuing to grow its Personal Care and Household and Industrial Cleaning business lines. Both areas are key to Univar’s growth strategy in the coming years.
