Univar continues its expansion in Europe with new operations in Lyon, France

Brussels, Belgium, 12th February 2009 – Univar, a world leader in the sales and distribution of chemicals, today announced a further expansion to its already vast European setup. Univar France recently announced its plans to officially launch a 16 million Euro project at the Genay site. This will allow continual development in the Lyon region, which is one of Univar’s growth regions.
The “Lyon 2011” project
Univar has announced a 16 million Euro expansion project at Univar’s Genay site in Lyon, France to be completed by 2011. The objective of the project is to reorganise and expand the current Genay site with the aim that it will become the central hub of all industrial business sites in the Lyon region.
‘This new warehouse for minerals, solvents and specialities will allow Univar to work in the best conditions of safety and environmental protection and to continue to improve the services it offers to its customers,” explains Nicolas Lehmann, General Manager of Univar France.
