Leading global chemical distributor will exhibit at stand 405 in Hall 8
Brussels, Belgium, 23th March 2009 – In the highly competitive, innovative and ever-changing coatings market, gaining a clear advantage is crucial to success. Univar, a leading global specialty and commodity chemicals sales and distribution company, has decades of experience in the coatings industry and provides its customers with the latest products enabling them to be at the forefront of innovation. Its wide range of premium products manufactured by world-class companies and its strategic and extensive distribution network, ensure Univar’s consistent, on-time and reliable supply of the right product. The company is present at the European Coatings Show to showcase its latest product innovations at stand 405 in hall 8.
Innovative products tailored to the customer’s needs
In today’s marketplace, which is under a lot of pressure with the economic crisis, it is imperative to work in a manner which is cost-effective but which also allows companies to stay ahead of the competition. Univar has a specialist team with in-depth knowledge of the coatings business giving their customers a clear advantage in the market. “We are continuously focused on providing innovative and customised service solutions through our ‘One-Stop-Shop’ concept and formulations assistance including the development of original sample racks and tailor-made products,” said Marc Démoulin, European Coatings Industry Manager, Univar.
Some of Univar’s innovative solutions, which will be on display at ECS include:
- Dow Corning sample rack, which displays and instantly provides the best innovative products of Dow Corning’s coatings silicone-based additives range and organosilanes.
- Ionic Solutions sample rack, which displays and makes available the best innovative products of Ionic Solutions’ coatings additives range (dispersants, thickeners and defoamers).
- PA20A: a customised solution newly developed by Univar with a Dow Corning antifoam-based formulation that is adapted to current market needs and is available throughout Europe.
“Green solvents” are the future
Univar is committed to anticipating future requirements of the market place. The company works closely and continuously with leading suppliers and customers to offer the latest innovations and advanced "green products” that ensure safe, environmentally-friendly production practices throughout the manufacturing chain. This is a key issue for suppliers and customers, especially with a view to the European Union’s upcoming Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) legislation, which will come into force at the start of 2010. “There is currently a green trend in all businesses – and the coatings industry is no exception. As of 1st January 2010 the VOC legislation comes into force and it will be imperative for companies to ensure they are ready to comply. Univar is perfectly positioned to help its customers with this transition – thanks to its wide portfolio for coatings and paints, including many “green products” such as the Lambiotte range. We advise customers on the implications of this new legal framework and at the same time reinforce our own overall strategy of being a sustainable business,” said John van Osch, President Univar EMEA.
