Univar expands key distribution agreements for the coatings industry

Nuremberg, Germany, 31st March 2009 – Univar, a world leader in the sales and distribution of chemicals, announced an expansion in distribution partnerships with three major companies for its coatings business:
- Dow Wolf Cellulosics: As of 1st January 2009, Univar became the trusted distributor for Dow Wolf Cellulosics range of thickeners that were developed especially for water-borne coatings: WalocelTM XM, CRT and MT.
- Ionic Solutions: Ionic Solutions is a UK-based producer of dispersants, thickeners and de-foamers. Univar’s partnership with this company is valid within most of Western Europe.
- Feng Hong Clay Chemicals, China: Univar is an official distributor of Feng Hong Clay Chemicals via Hong Kong-based Addinova Ltd in Benelux, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the UK. Feng Hong is known for its high quality standards for producing bentonite-based materials, providing the market with economic alternatives to some of the established organoclay, hectorite and polyamid grades.
These affiliations will allow the company to offer an even larger portfolio of products and solutions to the coatings industry. John van Osch, Univar’s President EMEA said, ‘These three new partnerships are highly significant for Univar. They allow us to further complement and broaden our existing product portfolio of Paints and Varnishes giving our customers more variety.’
