Univar expands distribution agreement for the food industry

New partnership with Amilina
Antwerp, Belgium, 29th June 2009 – Univar, a leading European company specialising in the sales, marketing, application and safe handling of a wide range of chemicals and ingredients, today announced an expansion of its distribution partnership with Amilina, a major flour producer.

Univar has become a trusted distributor for Amilina (formerly known as Malsena), the largest flour producer in the Baltic States, founded in 1841. Univar will distribute Amilina starch products, renowned for their high purity and extremely low microbiological count, in Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ireland, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Amilina, which is both ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 certified, has an excellent reputation for the quality of its starch products, which are used throughout a variety of industries.

About Amilina
The roots of Amilina go way back to the early 19th century, when the first modern flour mill was established in the town of Panevezys in Lithuania in 1841 by B. Rubinstein.
