REACH seminar
Second Chance to attend a REACH seminar! - Note from UK REACH Competent Authority, Health and Safety Executive
REACH Regonial Flyer Event
We have circulated previously to you the flyer for our national conference events for you to distribute to your members and down their supply chains. Many thanks in doing this for us and helping to raise awareness of REACH and for your patience if receiving and responding to these messages. The national conferences have been very popular and we had to increase the capacity of both the Leeds and Cardiff events (and Edinburgh is going the same way) to accommodate interest in attending (around 150 people came to Leeds and almost that many are registered for Cardiff).
However, we recognise that not everyone, and in particular SMEs, would be able to get to these events and there are many more business in the UK so we have organised, in collaboration with BusinessLink, a series of regional roadshows and I attach a flyer for these events. Like the national conferences these roadshows are aimed primarily at those in UK business who have no or little knowledge of REACH. This may be members of your trade body and/or companies down their supply chains. We have tried to be flexible in setting up these events by providing a choice of presentation sessions at the beginning and end of the working day and by making CA staff available during the rest of the time to provide a drop in clinic (the latter, of course, might be of interest to those with more knowledge of REACH). Please note that at the moment there are no roadshow events shown for the South West. We are in the process of organising an extensive series of breakfast events for this region and will send you details once we have them.
The events are free to attend but places are limited. Details (e-mail, telephone or surface mail) of how to register an interest in attending an event are given in the flyer.
As a reminder, although its name implies that it might just be of interest to the "chemicals" sector, REACH is very broad in scope. Potentially it may impact across many business sectors - businesses which may manufacture, import and/or use chemicals but either do not realise it or do not think they would be covered - for example chemicals in imported articles (finished goods) are covered in REACH. Further information on REACH can be found at www.hse.gov.uk/reach.
Please feel free to pass this message and attached flyer on to your members and also down their own supply chains.
Best wishes
