Environmentally Mobile!
What have you done with your old mobile phone?
The point at which it is better for the environment to buy a new product than keep an old one, is known as the breakeven point. A mobile's breakeven point is 7 years, but the average person changes their mobile every 11 months.
It is estimated that up to 90 million mobile phones are discarded in drawers and cupboards across the UK – these weigh 11,250 tonnes, the equivalent to more than 30 Boeing 747s!
We have been collecting and taking donations for all the old company mobile phones. A company called EMC http://www.emc-recycle.com/ have been recycling them.
As a result we've raised £5900 for the Teenage Cancer Trust!
